After much anticipation, ArcGIS Pro has been updated again! This update brings version 3.6, but the currently released version does not include a Chinese language pack, so only the English version is available. I downloaded and installed it, and the process is relatively straightforward and user-friendly for beginners, though the lack of a Chinese pack is a bit inconvenient. It is recommended for users with some English proficiency who want to try out the new features.
PS: For production use, it is advisable to wait until a Chinese language pack and subsequent update patches are released.
What's New in ArcGIS Pro 3.6?
Key highlights include:
- ModelBuilder interface and appearance have been completely redesigned, offering a more modern look and aligning with ArcGIS Online.
- Map time synchronization allows for unifying and displaying time-aware layer data in a common map time zone.
- Advanced 3D visualization with new support for Gaussian Splatting Layers and the use of Google Photorealistic 3D basemaps.
- Schema report enhancements: The Generate Schema Report and Compare Schema tools now output dynamic HTML formats.
- A new interface in the Suitability Modeler allows for visual and statistical comparison of different hypothetical models.
- Improved utilization of multi-core processors (e.g., Zonal Statistics) and enhanced performance for complex map selection and rendering.
- Attribute tables now include a calculate field toolbar, improving data editing efficiency.

1. Downloading the ArcGIS Pro 3.6 Installation Package
For this version, I have divided it into two parts: one is the original ISO format complete installation file package, and the other is a patch package (in 7z format).

Note: All installation packages on this site are created using 7-zip. I also recommend using 7-zip for extraction.
2. Installing the ArcGIS Pro 3.6 Main Program
Extract the downloaded ArcGIS_Pro_36_197317.iso file, then double-click the ArcGISPro_36_197382.exe file in the installation package to run the ArcGIS Pro 3.6 main installer.
After double-clicking, proceed directly to the next step.
Accept the agreement and proceed to the next step.
Select "Anyone" (If you want a simple installation, be sure to choose this option, as many people struggle with Windows user policies).
Proceed with the default selection here. I did not select the AI model, but you can try installing it if needed.
Deselect these two options, then click Install.
The installation process will now begin, which may take some time depending on your machine's configuration. Be patient and wait for it to complete.
After installation is complete, do not run it immediately; click Finish.
3. Installing the Runtime Patch
This step is often critical, but the patch installation for ArcGIS Pro 3.6 is straightforward and requires only two steps.
Step 1: Replace the AfCore.dll File
Navigate to the ArcGIS Pro 3.6 installation directory, typically located at C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin. Open this folder, then copy the AfCore.dll file from the Path directory to C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Pro\bin.
Simply overwrite the existing file.
Step 2: Repair the Registry
Run the agp.reg file from the upgrade package to modify the registry and complete the upgrade.
Finally, launch ArcGIS Pro. You should see that it runs successfully.
Note
During this process, be cautious of your system's antivirus software flagging the patch as a threat. If this happens, you must add an exception to allow the patch to run; otherwise, it will not function.
If this occurs, open Windows Defender and allow the patch file.
