In a previous article titled "「GIS Data」Chinese Geographic Region Partition Vector Data", we shared vector data on geographic region partitions. Recently, some users in our group requested geomorphological data. After searching, we actually found a 1:1,000,000 geomorphological type spatial distribution dataset from the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and are sharing it with everyone.
Data Information
The China 1:1,000,000 Geomorphological Type Spatial Distribution Data originates from the "Geomorphological Atlas of the People's Republic of China (1:1,000,000)". This atlas comprehensively reflects the macro patterns of China's geomorphology and reveals the spatial differentiation of regional landforms. It is a national fundamental scale atlas within the million-scale thematic map series already published in China, and it is the first integrated land-sea fundamental scale atlas in this series. It is also the first internationally completed four-fold quarto international sheet division one-millionth geomorphological atlas globally, filling a gap in this field both domestically and internationally. It has promoted the progress of geomorphological research, and the research成果 (results) have been widely applied in national land surveys, regional planning, environmental protection, and disaster monitoring across China.
The atlas was compiled by the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS, in collaboration with relevant national research institutes, universities, and mapping units, and was published by Science Press in 2009.
